Psychotherapy
Individual Therapy/Counseling
Individual therapy/counseling is a compassionate journey between patient and psychologist to address mental illness, distress, inflexibility, and personal growth. My therapy approach is highly individualized for each patient depending on the presenting concerns; however, all of my treatment approaches pull from cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as mindfulness and acceptance-based skills.

Therapy will commence with a 90-minute evaluation to gather relevant clinical and historical data for case conceptualization. Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and the duration/course of treatment can vary person to person (6+ session). Special rates will be applied for patients 65+, first responders, or those working in the medical field. Longer sessions can be requested based on hourly rate.
I do not accept insurance, therefore I am not restricted by session limits or diagnosis which can sometimes limit patients seeking or continuing treatment. I can produce bills for patients seeking their own out-of network reimbursement.
Couples/Dyadic Therapy
Couples therapy involves both parties treated as equal stakeholders in the therapy (both people are considered the patient; one unit). My approach with couples uses a similar therapeutic base to my individual therapy approach (CBT, mindfulness and acceptance). The focus of the therapy is on the relationship itself - discussing communication, interpersonal effectiveness strategies, and preserving intimacy in the face of stress and adversity.
Dyadic therapy also involves both parties treated as equal stakeholders in the therapy. The key difference between couples therapy and dyadic therapy is the focus of the treatment - this being the stressor (e.g., grief, trauma, medical illness) and not the relationship itself. Here, there is a clearly defined patient and a supporting partner in the treatment.

Through assessment/information gathering, data synthesizing, evaluations, and feedback, I identify ways a group can benefit both their employees and their customers. I currently run a stress management and wellness group at a local hospital for administrative directors, and have facilitated several focus groups and exit interviews for healthcare workers. My services include both clinical and clinical research consultations for programmatic change.
Fees for programmatic consultation will be determined based on hourly cost estimates and expected consultant deliverables.
Program Development (Live and Virtual Formats)
I have designed programs for live and video delivery, as well as online asynchronous website platforms, for diverse groups of medical and psychiatric illness. Key considerations are needed when developing evidence-based programs which are specifically tailored for certain groups (e.g., specific illness population, patients with barriers to care). As your consultant for program development, I will serve a role which both fosters your own creativity while also helping steer the project towards successful outcomes.
Given that programs can vary greatly, fees for program development consultation will be determined based on hourly cost estimates and expected consultant deliverables.
Education
Invited/Guest Speaking
I delight in opportunities to present educational materials to people across a wide range of specialties and experiences. Although I am most comfortable discussing topics which are psychological in nature, I also value opportunities to facilitate seminars in diversity, equity and difference, and health education.
As invited/guest speaking opportunities are usually advantageous for both parties involved, I typically do not charge a fee for guest speaking or presenting; however this means I am often selective with how many speaking arrangements I partake in any given year.
Adjunctive Curricula and Workshops
As a fellow at UNT, I taught 6 separate independent courses and advised undergraduate students. I have designed courses for experimental methods, sexual behavior, perception and cognition, history and systems in psychology, and general psychology.
I have also delivered workshops and weekly courses pertaining to ACT and mindfulness meditation. I am available to facilitate workshops (live and virtual), and can offer CME credit with enough notice and direction.
